Microsoft resumes Windows 10 October 2018 rollout update

Following a delay of over a month, Microsoft has begun rolling out Windows 10 October 2018 Update, after being struck by bugs that caused the company to pull on the upgrade offline.

To remember, Microsoft had pulled that the Windows 10 October 2018 Update after reports that the upgrade was deleting information of consumers. It afterwards declared the rollout of a patched version to Windows 10 Insider Preview associates, and is just now re-releasing the upgrade beginning with commercial clients from Tuesday, November 13.

Microsoft has promised considerable changes in how it approaches quality problems, including improved communication with its customers. According to the technology giant, the”data ruining” insect that delayed the launch of this so called October 2018 Update was thoroughly researched.

At a blog article, Microsoft’s John Cable, Director of Program Management, Windows Servicing and Delivery, stated,”While the April Update had the quickest Windows 10 upgrade rollout speed, we’re taking a much more measured approach using the October Update, slowing our rollout to carefully research device health information. We’ll provide the October Update to customers via Windows Update when information reveals your device is prepared and you’ll have a fantastic experience. When we discover your device could have an issue, like an application incompatibility, then we’re not going to install the upgrade until that matter is solved, even if you ‘Check for updates’, which means you avoid experiencing any known issues. For those advanced users trying to install the upgrade premature by manually using ‘Check for updates’ in preferences, be aware that we’re gradually gearing this up accessibility, whereas we carefully track feedback and data.”

Aside from the data ruining insect, many different bugs popped up. These contain a ZIP file bug which was associated with pulling / pasting files from a ZIP archive while using the native Windows File Explorer tool. When a user attempts to extract or glue a document (let us say, gadgets360.jpg) from within a ZIP archive file into a different folder comprising a different file with the exact same title (gadgets360.jpg)they won’t be granted an overwrite prompt. Rather, the destination folder file’s modified date varies, however, the document isn’t replaced in any way.

After receiving a lot of hype, the latest ChatGPT bot by Elon-Musk founded company OpenAI was released on Thursday with cutting-edge AI functionalities. After the launch of GPT-3 in 2020, the company has yet to release any full model and plans to release GPT-4 earlier next year or this year-end. But surprisingly, a user-friendly version of ChatGPT based on GPT-3.5 is currently released by the company to answer all sorts of queries, most humanly and straightforwardly.

The bot is based on the latest language generation technology of GPT 3.5 but with a simple UI so you can converse with it in a browser to write about anything from complex code to a full essay on any topic. People are astonished to see how this latest release of language model quickly interprets source codes and suggests bugs for fixing.

While the chatbot is fun, flexible and useful for asking for details about anything, there are certain limitations. For instance, the AI is only partially able to provide accurate information as fact, and people have encountered the bot offering misinformation occasionally.

But the good thing about the bot is its ability to handle queries’ feedback and improve/revise them upon being asked again. It also has a self-censoring ability for being questioned about a difficult or impractical query. It differs from other AI-enabled bots because it assists human creativity.

The bot is designed with a dialogue format that answers the follow-up queries in an engaging way, admits its mistakes, rectifies them, and censors irrelevant questions. Unlike its previous version releases, this latest AI chatbot has been released as a free research preview tool for everyone.

The bot has been trained by taking a large text sample from the web without definite permissions from the authors of the text used. As a result, many controversies are going on, stating that the bot is capable of Copyright laundering – imitating the original work without violating the copyright.

Another thing that makes ChatGPT fun and different from its predecessors is its ability to understand and answer the stances. It can help you write poems and essays, tell jokes and debate political or global issues.

While certain limitations are associated with it, the team continuously works to improve the language model with more precise information in its final version. With this latest cutting-edge AI technology, the capabilities are limitless, and it won’t be wrong to say that such bots will make people out of a job in the future.

Everything you need to know about Google Pixel 7a

Google has been keeping its range of phones accessible to a wider base of users through its Pixel A series. And this time around with Google Pixel 7 and Google Pixel 7 Pro taking the centre stage, fans are anticipating a Google Pixel 7a to be announced soon.

Though the company has made no official announcement, it is widely anticipated that Pixel 7a should be announced any moment now. Though chip shortage is a major concern for the industry, some experts believe that the launch of Pixel 7a might suffer due to it. Nevertheless, everyone is currently super busy figuring out what this model might be like in design and features whenever it is announced.

Till now there have only been one or two leaks and yet they have been so good that it has sparked a lot of rumors. Design and features are being talked about especially, various experts believe that this time around Google might not make many compromises despite the lower price tag of the phone. Though charging might be a disappointment here. Despite featuring wireless charging it will only offer a 5W charger which means you don’t get the comfort of charging up your device within minutes.

A lot of this information is coming from a particular developer Kuba Wojciechowski. He adds that the camera and chipset might get a considerable upgrade from the previous model Pixel 6a. Tensor G2 chip is very likely to feature on 7a. It might not be revolutionary, but it will definitely be quite good given the budget of the phone.

Design leaks have become a routine before every launch. And Google is no different. Some renditions of Pixel 7a have surfaced and the phone looks similar to Pixel 6a but it also has some upgraded design elements too.

When it comes to the pricing, since the latest launch Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro didn’t see any additional price rise, users can expect the same from Pixel 7a. It might feature a price tag similar to the one Pixel 6a had upon its launch which was around $450. However, prices are subject to vary from region to region.

Users want a host of features from this model, some of them being face unlock, better refresh rate, newer color options, and so much more. It remains to be seen if the company actually offers any of these. Are you excited about the announcement of Google Pixel 7a?
